The purpose of the WINE project, is to make a Windows runtime
environment making it possible to run Windows software under
X on systems running on the various x86 processors. It has been tested on Linux, NetBSD, FreeBDS, OpenBSD, and Solaris x86, it also has partial support for SCO OpenServer, SCO UnixWare and OS/2. The goal is to enable Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows NT programs to run seamlessly under X, without having to install any of the Windows systems on the machine. My work in this project has been localizing the various programs to Danish. The project headquarters are at http://www.winehq.com/, the official FAQ is at http://pw1.netcom.com/~dagar/winecontent.html and the main repository is at tsx-11.mit.edu. |
