About

Karanjit Siyan, NetWare Professional Reference1

This book boast of being "Absolutely Everything You Need to Know - In One Single Source!" which would have been right, if it wasn't for the lack of a thorough discussion of tcp/ip subnetting and ip router configuration, areas that are well known as sources for much confusion.

A much worse problem is the apparent lack of proofreading, and the often confusing typography which makes the book a much harder read than necessary. It bears the unmistakable mark of actually being a collection of lecture notes too hastily rewritten to fit the book format, with the resulting confusion of wrong or old figure references, and such beauties as an end of chapter summary mentioning a subject as being explored though it hadn't been mentioned.

In general I would recommend it as a good reference for people who already know a lot about NetWare, and only need to look up a specific question, though a better index would have made the usefulness of the book even greater.

The fact that there are some choices recommended by the author that I disagree with, is merely one more irritating detail for me.
